Mr. Theodore

Kontoravdis

Lay Assistant

Mr. Theodore Kontoravdis was born in Athens, Greece and moved to Canada when he was forty days old. He is the only child of the late Fr. Efstathios and Presbytera Kyriaki Kontoravdis. Theodore was very active in his home parish of Holy Cross in Windsor, Ontario Canada as an altar boy and Goyan. These activities and others are what lead him to follow in the steps of his father and go to seminary.

In 2003, Theodore enrolled in the Toronto Orthodox Theological Academy (TOTA) for seminary. He graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Theology and continued his studies in youth and family ministry. Before moving to Chicago, he was a Pastoral lay assistant and youth director at the parish of Sts. Panteleimon, Anna, & Paraskevi in Markham, Ontario for 12 years.
On November 1, 2014 he married Genie Georgacopoulos at Sts. Constantine and Helen; the church where she grew up, is a Koraes alumni, and now a teacher at the school.
With God’s will, Theodore anticipates the day he is ordained into the diaconate and the priesthood.
